Books/Workbooks for Couples

  • “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” is written by John Gottman, the leader in research based couples treatment. He will go over 7 of his research based principles in this book with activities/homework for couples. I use Gottman’s techniques in couples therapy.

  • “Keeping the Love You Find and “Getting the Love You Want” both discuss why we choose the partners we choose, how to break the pattern of choosing unhealthy partners for ourselves, and how to have a healthier relationship.

  • “Hold me Tight” is a great book for couples wanting to know how their attachment style affects their relationship, how they can reestablish a safe emotional bond, and gives practical exercises.

  • “The 5 Love Languages” has a test inside to determine how you and your partner best receive love. Each chapter will explain each love language and how to meet your partner’s needs based on his/her love language. An easy read and a great place to start.

  • “One Question a Day for You and Me” is a fun journal where you and your partner answer one question a day in the journal. Learn a little more about each other!

Books/Workbooks for Kids

  • “A Volcano in My Tummy” is a great workbook for children struggling with anger management or feelings management in general. A lot of activities helping to identify feelings, where you feel them in the body, and what healthy coping skills to do when you have feelings.

  • “Parenting with Love and Logic” and “Parenting Teens with Love and Logic” are great starter/basic parenting books about changing your language to positive language, giving choices, and natural consequences.

  • “The Ungame” is a feelings game for the whole family!
